About the Program

This minor has two options: one for Business students and one for non-Business students.

With a minor in Accounting, students are prepared for a challenging and rewarding career in financial accounting, managerial accounting, accounting systems, taxation and auditing in corporate, not-for-profit, and government organizations.

Focus of Study

The UCCS Accounting curriculum conveys a comprehensive understanding of the theories and concepts that underlie practice. This minor has a focus on logical reasoning and critical thinking, better enabling students to solve problems in accounting and make sound policy decisions in the context of social, legal, and political environments.

Program Requirements

College of Business undergraduate students are encouraged and can easily pursue a minor in our business specializations. All minors for business students are 9 credit hours and can be applied to business elective requirements as well as open electives (adding no additional credits or time to degree completion). Each minor allows a student to further their business knowledge and differentiate themselves from others by adding another credential to their resume.
