Options to Consider for Business Coursework:
All students graduate with a Bachelor of Science in Business. Students admitted to the College of Business should follow the freshman and sophomore sequence of courses listed in the Model Degree Program. Upon completion of the Skills Courses and a minimum of 60 credits, students are eligible to apply to the Professional Program (i.e. declare an emphasis). An overall GPA of 2.5 and a business course GPA of 2.5 are required for admission to the Professional Program. Business students will not be allowed to take 400-level Business courses until all the Skills Courses are completed.
The Professional Program - The junior and senior years constitute the Professional Program of the undergraduate business curriculum. Admission is competitive and granted to those students demonstrating the highest promise of professional success. An overall GPA of 2.5 and a business course GPA of 2.5 are required for admission to the Professional Program. Business students may apply when they have completed at least 60 hours to include the skills courses.

Prerequisites are STRICTLY enforced by the College of Business. There are two types of prerequisites that Business students should note:
The business courses are available to all students-of course you must meet any stated prerequisites. You can begin work on the business degree with the intention of being admitted as soon as you meet the criteria for admission (see above).
HOWEVER, our Residency requirement specifies that at least 30 semester hours of business course work — including all Area of Emphasis courses, BUAD400, and BUAD450 — must be completed after the student has been admitted to the College of Business and Administration undergraduate degree program.
Students planning to earn a business degree who are not yet admitted to the College of Business must meet the intra-university transfer requirements, and should make appropriate adjustments to their schedules to ensure they will meet the Residency requirement.
Students wishing to receive an Area of Emphasis in the College of Business must be admitted to the Professional Program. Students admitted to the College of Business but not the Professional Program will be eligible to graduate with an emphasis in General Business. The requirements are listed in the Course Bulletin.
You can normally count on a selection of business core courses only. These are the courses all business students are required to take. Do not count on any Area of Emphasis courses to be offered during the summer.
