Bachelor's Degree Required

All MBA applicants must have the equivalent of a 4-year bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited institution. An undergraduate focus in business is not required for admission. All MBA students are expected to demonstrate a proficient use of the English language, both oral and witten. Proficiency in Excel is also expected. If a student is deficient in any of these skills, it is their responsibility to mitigate the deficiency before enrolling in the program.

The GMAT or GRE is required:

The Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT) is the entrance exam commonly used by AACSB accredited business schools as one predictor of academic performance in an MBA program. The average total test score for UCCS admitted students is 550. In order to complete the application process to the UCCS MBA program, students must take the GMAT and have the official scores sent to The University of Colorado at Colorado Springs. GMAT scores and the MBA application do not have to be sent in simultaneously.

If students prefer, the Graduate School of Business Administration is now accepting scores from the Graduate Record Examination (GRE) for consideration into our Master of Business Administration program. The average total GRE score (verbal + quantitative) of students admitted to our program is 1,120. In order to complete the application process, students must take the GRE and have the official scores sent to the The University of Colorado at Colorado Springs. Applicants must use two codes to ensure the test scores will come to the MBA department. The first is our school code: 4874. The second is our department code: 4201. Applicants only need to take the general GRE exam, subject exams are not needed for consideration.

Test scores from other entrance exams such as The Medical College Admission Test (MCAT), the Law School Admission Test (LSAT) and the Dental Admission Test (DAT) will be considered only if the scores are accompanied by a corresponding degree (i.e. M.D., J.D., D.D.S.). Please contact the MBA office before submitting official scores from one of these exams. An applicant who has already earned an advanced degree (e.g. master's or higher) may petition for a waiver of the GMAT requirement. The GMAT Waiver Petition must be completed and submitted with the application materials.

The GMAT or the GRE is a mandatory requirement for traditional admission into the MBA program. However, there is an alternative application process that will waive the GMAT or the GRE requirement ONLY for applicants with several years of professional business and management experience. Admission Decisions:

Complete MBA applications are considered on an ongoing basis for all three semesters. Applications are not considered complete and will not be reviewed until all credentials have been received. A faculty committee reviews applications and bases admission decisions off of an applicant's total undergraduate GPA and official GMAT or GRE scores, as well as supporting credentials such as work experience and letters of recommendation. Candidates are notified in writing of the admission decision. Decisions are typically made within 30 days of application completion.
