Scholarships specifically for PGA/PGM students at UCCS are presently available only on a limited basis. Potential sources of scholarships that students might pursue on their own include:
In addition, students are encouraged to inquire at their local and state golf organizations regarding financial assistance opportunities for participants in the PGA/PGM Program.
Students are also eligible for a wide range of other types of financial aid and assistance that are available through the University Financial Aid Office. Out-of-state students who exceed specified entrance examination scores or (grade point averages for transfer students) qualify for $2,000 per year. Additional information is available from the Financial Aid office (visit www.uccs.edu).
All incoming students who wish to be considered for financial aid must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and specify that it be sent to UCCS. This requirement applies even if the student is not seeking federal assistance.
Out-of-state students may be eligible for annual scholarships that reduce their tuition and/or housing costs.
Residents of most western states may be eligible for a special tuition status at UCCS at a level equal to 150% of the in-state charge. The following states participate in this "Western Undergraduate Exchange Program": Alaska, Arizona, California, Hawaii, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, New Mexico, North Dakota, Oregon, South Dakota, Utah, Washington, and Wyoming. PGM applicants from these states who wish to be considered for WUE status must include a statement to the effect when submitting their university application.
The State of Colorado does not grant in-state status to students who remain wholly or partially dependent on their parents while enrolled with the University. Additional information on this policy and the process for gaining resident status can be obtained by inquiry of the UCCS Admissions and Records Office.
In addition, the PGM Program staff and the College of Business are raising money to be used for financial assistance. Please be patient with us as we move toward this goal. At this stage, approximately $3,000 of scholarships have been awarded annually to students in the program who achieved the highest GPAs in their class. In addition, UCCS receives funding for a PGA of America Minority PGM Scholarship that is awarded to an already enrolled student after a competitive application process.
