Program Details

The C-CAP is designed to prepare you for mid-level and advance-level cybersecurity roles across five different sectors. To align with industry needs, all five cybersecurity apprenticeship programs include relevant cybersecurity certifications. Upon completion of three courses and the associated bootcamps, you will be equipped with the skills, education and experience to work in the exciting and ever-evolving world of cybersecurity management.

    Get paid to learn. You will receive both instruction and paid on-the-job training as you progress through the program. At the completion of each of the three phases, you will receive an increase in pay as well as added responsibility in your cybersecurity roles. 

  3. Industry-Recognized Credentials

    To meet the needs of employer partners, the coursework is mapped to the skills outlined in the National Initiative for Cybersecurity Education (NICE) framework. You will receive current and relevant cybersecurity knowledge in each of the three courses. Upon completion of each course, you will also participate in bootcamps to gain in-depth training on industry-recognized certifications, bridging the gap between basic and mid-level cybersecurity skills. 

  4. Mentorship

    You will have access to the Career Coaching Program, which connects you to a mentor in the cybersecurity industry to aid your transition from apprenticeship to career. With your mentor, you will engage in a variety of activities including personal reflection exercises, seminars, etiquette dinners, networking and professional development workshops. 

  5. Support Services

    You will have access to numerous support services provided by the UCCS College of Business Career Development Center, including individual career counseling, resume reviews, mock interviews, conflict management, salary negotiation, effective communication and professional etiquette. Additionally, students will have access to the First2Go Program, which is designed for academic success of firs-generation students. 

  6. 100% Online

    The program is offered completely online, allowing you to work for any cybersecurity organization in the country. You will learn from from our top faculty with real-world experience in the cybersecurity industry, no matter where you are located.

Apprenticeship Programs

  • Cybersecurity Analyst Apprenticeship Program

    Focus's on training apprentices for Cybersecurity Analyst role. Apprentices will be required to complete three courses (earning 12 credits) and associated bootcamps on industry recognized certifications. Upon completion, participants will be awarded Certificate of Completion of C-CAP Cybersecurity Analyst Program, and UCCS Certificate in Cybersecurity Management. The participants may apply 12 credits earned towards B.S. in Business with Emphasis in Cybersecurity Management or Information Systems.

    • IT Risk Management

    Industry Certification Bootcamps:

    • Cyber Security Analyst (CySA)
    • GIAC Certified Incident Handler (GIAC-CIH)
    • Associate Risk Management Professional (ARMP)
  • Cybersecurity Consultant Apprenticeship Program

    Will train apprentices for Cybersecurity Consultant role. Apprentices will be required to complete three courses (earning 12 credits) and associated bootcamps on industry recognized certifications. Upon completion, participants will be awarded Certificate of Completion of C-CAP Cybersecurity Consultant Program, and UCCS Certificate in Cybersecurity Management. The successful participants may apply 12 credits earned towards B.S. in Business with Emphasis in Cybersecurity Management or Information Systems.

  • Cybersecurity IT Auditor Apprenticeship Program

    Focuses on Cybersecurity IT Auditor role. Apprentices will be required to complete three courses (earning 12 credits) and associated bootcamps on industry recognized certifications. Upon completion, participants will be awarded Certificate of Completion of C-CAP Cybersecurity IT Auditor Program, and UCCS Certificate in Cybersecurity Management. The successful participants may apply 12 credits earned towards B.S. in Business with Emphasis in Cybersecurity Management or Information Systems.

    • Ethical Hacking
    • Information Systems Auditing courses.

    Industry Certification Bootcamps:

    • Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA)
    • Systems Security Certified Practitioner (SSCP)
    • Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH)
  • Cybersecurity Penetration & Vulnerability Tester Apprenticeship Program

    Will train apprentices for Penetration & Vulnerability Tester role. Apprentices will be required to complete three courses (earning 12 credits) and associated bootcamps on industry recognized certifications. Upon completion, participants will be awarded Certificate of Completion of C-CAP Penetration & Vulnerability Tester Program, and UCCS Certificate in Cybersecurity Management. The successful participants may apply 12 credits earned towards B.S. in Business with Emphasis in Cybersecurity Management or Information Systems.

    Will train apprentices for Cybersecurity Manager role. Apprentices will be required to complete three courses (earning 12 credits) and associated bootcamps on industry recognized certifications. Upon completion, participants will be awarded Certificate of Completion of C-CAP Cybersecurity Manager Program, and UCCS Certificate in Cybersecurity Management. The successful participants may apply 12 credits earned towards B.S. in Business with Emphasis in Cybersecurity Management or Information Systems.
