College of Business Students,  

Welcome back! I hope this message finds you refreshed and rested after Winter Break. As we turn the calendar to 2021, it carries with it the familiar sense of possibility, growth and development that a new year brings. As we did in 2020, we will support each other during difficult times, remain steadfast in our commitment to student success and look for the promise of on-campus experiences in the upcoming year.

Spring 2021 is shaping up to be a busy and exciting semester, and I hope you can join us for many of our upcoming events.

The College of Business is currently seeking students to serve on the Dean’s Student Advisory Board. I look forward to working with a handful of College of Business students to discuss student-related issues and gain important insight into your needs. This year, we are seeking your input on the College of Business Strategic Plan. If you are interested in representing your student body and speaking directly with me about specific student issues, please email Dr. Meghan Stidd at mstidd@uccs.edu to apply. You will need email her one paragraph outlining the reasons you are interested in this opportunity. The first meeting of the semester with begin on January 29th at 2:30pm. I look forward to hearing from you.

Virtual Career Networking Night is on March 2nd, an opportunity to network with employers and discuss potential career and internship positions. The entire event will take place virtually through Handshake - you will need to register through Handshake to book networking sessions with employers. Learn more about the event and register here.

Earlier in the semester, the Career Development Center will also be hosting Military-Affiliated and Veteran as well as Student Athlete-tailored networking events on February 2nd. Learn more and register on Mountain Lion Connect.

The Daniels Fund Ethics Initiative Collegiate Program is seeking undergraduate and graduate participants for the Daniels Fund Ethics Initiative Consortium Case Competition. Showcase your principle-based ethical decision-making skills to a panel of business professionals on April 16th. This event is sponsored by the Daniels Fund Ethics Initiative Collegiate Program at UCCS College of Business and it is a great opportunity to apply your business knowledge and critical thinking skills in a friendly competition.
