Dean's Welcome

Dean's Welcome

Welcome to the UCCS College of Business. I am honored to serve as dean, and I would like to thank you for your interest in the College and learning more about our academic programs, community engagement, faculty research and student success.

The College of Business’s vision statement is “We are in the business of building successful futures.” Career readiness is at the heart of our business programs. We strive to deliver industry-aligned courses that prepare our students for successful careers. We integrate ethics-based principles into each course to foster a high standard of ethics in our students. Most importantly, we are accredited by AACSB – the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business – which ensures that our students receive a top quality business education.

Colorado Springs is a leading destination for business professionals. U.S. News & World Report has ranked Colorado Springs as the #1 Most Desirable Place to Live in the U.S, and it is not difficult to understand why. With easy access to the mountains, diverse industry opportunities and a collaborative business culture, Colorado Springs provides our students with unique and meaningful learning opportunities in business.

There are many reasons why I was drawn to the UCCS College of Business, and why you should be, too. Here are a few examples:

We are dedicated to student success. We provide an inclusive environment that supports learning opportunities for students of all backgrounds, identities and abilities. We celebrate different points of view and believe that diversity inspires and supports innovation.

In the spirit of continuous improvement, the College of Business is focused on continuous innovation. With new and novel undergraduate and graduate programs, we continue to deliver innovative programs that meet the needs of our local workforce. We serve as catalysts for economic growth and change, and we encourage problem-solving and creativity in our classrooms.

Our students are immersed in the local business community at each stage of their college career. We provide mandatory career exploration courses, internships and mentorship opportunities. We seek guidance from our local workforce and develop meaningful partnerships to support student success.

College of Business students receive instruction from dynamic faculty with real-world experience in their field. We intentionally keep classes small to ensure students receive personalized guidance from their professors. Many students utilize a variety of in-house resources, including the Career Development Center, Academic Advising and professional development opportunities. Students benefit from a team of incredible staff, alumni and community partners that support them throughout their college experience.

The UCCS College of Business serves as a resource and partner in shaping the future business leaders in the Pikes Peak Region and beyond. I encourage you to learn more about how we can work together to build a successful future for our students and our community.

Warmest Regards,
