Fall 2019

Dear Friends,

For many of us, the month of May culminated at the Cheyenne Mountain Resort where we honored two of our community’s outstanding entrepreneurial leaders. Over 420 business leaders and UCCS alumni gathered to celebrate the Lifetime Entrepreneurship Award recipient, James C. Berger, and the Next Generation Entrepreneur recipient, Hannah Parsons.

May 31 also marked my first day back as interim dean for the College of Business. I couldn’t imagine a better start than by having the opportunity to recognize those individuals who’ve worked so hard to build our community and support our campus and college. All of us in the College of Business are very grateful to have such inspirational and dedicated business leaders within our local community. It is the work of professionals like Jim and Hannah that inspire us to celebrate this event year after year.

As we work to shape the next generation of business leaders, we look to our vibrant business community for support. Your experience and expertise serve as models of excellence for our students and we hope to keep you engaged with the college so that future generations of students will also benefit from your shared insights.

One particular opportunity to engage that I ask you to consider is through our Career Coaching Program. The Career Coaching program is an individualized and industry-specific program that connects business professionals to students through mentorship, guidance, and support. We are now accepting applications for 2019-2020 Career Coaches. To learn more about the program and application process, click here

As demonstrated through our recent awardees, the success of our community is dependent upon the collective and collaborative work of all. Thank you for helping us develop the future of Colorado Springs.

Sincerely,

Eric Olson, Interim Dean
