Colorado Cybersecurity Apprenticeship Program

The Colorado Cybersecurity Apprenticeship Program, also known as C-CAP, provides aspiring cybersecurity professionals with the academic and skills-based knowledge required to earn mid-level and advance-level cybersecurity positions. Through a series of industry-aligned college courses, boot camps and on-the-job training, apprentices will be fully equipped to succeed in one of the fastest growing sectors in the nation. Concurrently, cybersecurity organizations will benefit from a steady pipeline of highly-skilled workforce talent, allowing employers to sufficiently recruit, train and retain the top cybersecurity professionals. 

Apprenticeship Programs

  • Cybersecurity Analyst Apprenticeship Program

    Focuses on training apprentices for Cybersecurity Analyst role. Apprentices will be required to complete three courses (earning 12 credits) and associated bootcamps on industry recognized certifications. Upon completion, participants will be awarded Certificate of Completion of C-CAP Cybersecurity Analyst Program, and UCCS Certificate in Cybersecurity Management. The participants may apply 12 credits earned towards B.S. in Business with Emphasis in Cybersecurity Management or Information Systems.

    • Managing Network Interconnections (INFS 2510; 3 credits)
    • Introduction to Cybersecurity Technologies (CYSM 3500; 3 credits)
    • IT Risk Management (CYSM 4100; 3 credits)
    • Cybersecurity Project (CYSM 3950; 1 credit)

    Industry Certification Bootcamps (2 credits):

    • Cyber Security Analyst (CySA)
    • GIAC Certified Incident Handler (GIAC-CIH)
    • Associate Risk Management Professional (ARMP)
  • Cybersecurity Penetration & Vulnerability Tester Apprenticeship Program

    Will train apprentices for Penetration & Vulnerability Tester role. Apprentices will be required to complete three courses (earning 12 credits) and associated bootcamps on industry recognized certifications. Upon completion, participants will be awarded Certificate of Completion of C-CAP Penetration & Vulnerability Tester Program, and UCCS Certificate in Cybersecurity Management. The successful participants may apply 12 credits earned towards B.S. in Business with Emphasis in Cybersecurity Management or Information Systems.

    Focuses on Cybersecurity IT Auditor role. Apprentices will be required to complete three courses (earning 12 credits) and associated bootcamps on industry recognized certifications. Upon completion, participants will be awarded Certificate of Completion of C-CAP Cybersecurity IT Auditor Program, and UCCS Certificate in Cybersecurity Management. The successful participants may apply 12 credits earned towards B.S. in Business with Emphasis in Cybersecurity Management or Information Systems.

    Will train apprentices for Cybersecurity Consultant role. Apprentices will be required to complete three courses (earning 12 credits) and associated bootcamps on industry recognized certifications. Upon completion, participants will be awarded Certificate of Completion of C-CAP Cybersecurity Consultant Program, and UCCS Certificate in Cybersecurity Management. The successful participants may apply 12 credits earned towards B.S. in Business with Emphasis in Cybersecurity Management or Information Systems.

  • Cybersecurity Manager Apprenticeship Program (Launch Date: TBA)

    Will train apprentices for Cybersecurity Manager role. Apprentices will be required to complete three courses (earning 12 credits) and associated bootcamps on industry recognized certifications. Upon completion, participants will be awarded Certificate of Completion of C-CAP Cybersecurity Manager Program, and UCCS Certificate in Cybersecurity Management. The successful participants may apply 12 credits earned towards B.S. in Business with Emphasis in Cybersecurity Management or Information Systems.

Paid on-the-job training

Apprentices will receive both instruction and paid on-the-job training as they progress through the program. At the completion of each of the three phases, apprentices will receive an increase in pay as well as added responsibility in their cybersecurity roles. 

100% Online

The program is offered completely online, allowing apprentices to work for any cybersecurity organization in the country. Apprentices will learn from internationally-recognized faculty with real-world experience in the cybersecurity industry, no matter where they are located.
