2021 Case Competition Winners
Each year, the UCCS College of Business hosts a business ethics case competition. The UCCS Ethics Case Competition allows students to apply business knowledge, critical thinking and principle-based ethical decision-making to real-world ethical situations along with a chance to network with local professionals.
This year, undergraduate and graduate students from 2-year and 4-year universities presented their case recommendations to a panel of judges, made up of business professionals from Colorado Springs and around the U.S. Each presentation required stakeholder assessment, ethical reasoning and business decision-making skills.
The competition concluded with an award ceremony to recognize the 2021 Case Competition Winners:
Undergraduate 2-Year Program Track
- 1st Place: Pikes Peak Community College: Jaycie Allen and Raiven Valdez; Faculty Advisor: Carol Kurkowski
- 2nd Place: Trinidad State College: Megan Pierce, Rylee Baca and Faith Morefield; Faculty Advisor: Paul Boone
Undergraduate 4-Year Program Track
- 1st Place: University of Colorado Colorado Springs: Aidan Rooney and Alisha Silkey; Faculty Advisor: Sloan Gonzales
- 2nd Place: Western State University: William Wood, Garrett Lane and Grant Lillard; Faculty Advisor: Jennifer DeBoer, Paula Mann and Michael Vieregge
- 3rd Place: United States Air Force Academy: Abby Warner, Amy Kang and Jalon Love; Faculty Advisor: Scott Heyler
Graduate Track
- 1st Place: Western State University: Leonard Mason and Peter Wardell; Faculty Advisor: Jennifer DeBoer Paula Mann and Michael Vieregge
