UCCS College of Business Dwire Hall

The 2018-19 academic year has now begun and we are very excited for what will be a fast-paced and eventful year.

Friends and supporters of the College of Business:

The 2018-19 academic year has now begun and we are very excited for what will be a fast-paced and eventful year. We look forward to a fall semester full of events, activities, and accomplishments.

Here in the College of Business, our focus is the building of successful futures. An important part of that successful future is career achievement. We accomplish this vision through our coursework, networking activities, mentoring events and professional internships.

In the upcoming months, we will create new opportunities for our students as the College increases its external relations with the business, non-profit, and civic  communities. We are in the process of creating new department and program advisory boards that will bring industry insights and connections into the College. Opportunities exist for interested individuals to serve on these boards. Jeanette Dias, UCCS College of Business Assistant Dean

We are in the process of developing a Professor for a Day program that will welcome the involvement of industry, civic and non-profit professionals in our classrooms. We are exploring possibilities for an executive in residence program that will bring senior private sector leadership to the College for a multi-day experience. The College will continue to develop a collaborative approach to business education to better prepare our students for career success and professional achievement.

We will also be using this year to prepare ourselves for reaccreditation, which is scheduled for 2020. To that end, Ms. Jeanette Dias has been hired as our assistant dean. Jeanette will lead our efforts in the preparation of the College’s report to our accrediting body, AACSB.

We are grateful for the continued support from our devoted friends and partners as we commit to our student’s success. We invite your involvement and interest in our various educational programs. We value the teamwork and ability to partner with our many supporters in the private and civic communities.

My very best wishes,

Steve Ferris signature
