PGA Golf Management student Brayden Kelley’24 earns PGA WORKS Scholarship for second year in a row
Current UCCS PGA Golf Management student Brayden Kelley is one of 10 recipients of the PGA WORKS Golf Management University Scholarship Program for the 2021-2022 academic school year. This is Kelley’s second year in a row receiving this highly competitive scholarship award within the PGA Golf Management program.
According to PGA Reach, the scholarships are designed to improve the recruitment and retention of talented and motivated students from diverse backgrounds, who are pursuing PGA Membership through PGA Golf Management University Programs nationwide. Scholarship recipients are selected based on their academic record, their leadership abilities and participation in school and community activities, honors and work experience, a statement of goals and aspirations, unique personal or family circumstances, an outside appraisal, demonstrated active participation in the game of golf and playing ability.
“I am so thankful to be receiving the PGA WORKS Scholarship again this year from the PGA REACH Program,” said Kelley. “Not only does this scholarship help me pay for my school this year, but it also presents a lot of opportunities to make valuable connections and gain experience in the industry. It’s an amazing program and I can’t wait to see the impact it creates again this year.”
Brayden Kelley is a sophomore in the PGA Golf Management program. The PGA Golf Management program was founded in 2003 and works directly with the PGA of America to deliver specialized curriculum to prepare students for careers in the golf industry. Students pass through a series of PGA courses and apply their knowledge directly to the industry through internship experience and training, culminating in eligibility for membership into the PGA of America as a PGA Golf Professional upon graduation. The program is housed in the UCCS College of Business, which is accredited by AACSB International and ranked nationally as a top business program by U.S. News & World Report.
“The PGA WORKS Golf Management University Scholarship enables these highly talented students to earn their college degree, as they follow their dream of becoming a PGA Member,” said PGA President Jim Richerson. “The golf industry is experiencing historic growth, which provides a valuable opportunity for these students to pursue a career in the game and business of golf.”
