Dear SCEC community,

Welcome back from our winter break to begin a new semester in a new year. This January, we are starting our 13th year of the Daniels Fund Ethics Initiative Collegiate Program (DFEI) at UCCS College of Business. Since the January 2010 start of the DFEI at UCCS, we have reached 100,769 people through classrooms, events, competitions, and outreach. Over the past twelve years, 86,197 students, 8,150 educators, and 6,422 business/community members have taken part in a DFEI at UCCS ethics education opportunity.

The Daniels Fund Board of Directors established the Daniels Fund Ethics Initiative Collegiate Program in early 2010 with eight business schools at universities in Colorado, New Mexico, Utah, and Wyoming as initial partners. Bill Daniels believed deeply in ethics and integrity, and the importance of absolute ethical principles. He said integrity and unwavering ethical behavior provide "the ultimate business advantage."

As a new year’s resolution, make a pledge to engage with ethics at UCCS!

So, what are some ways YOU can you engage in ethics this year?

• Attend a DFEI sponsored event, roundtable, and workshops. See upcoming events on our website and UCCS calendar. Register now for the upcoming events in this newsletter.
• Consider starting an Ethics Club with a campus chapter of Student Center for the Public Trust (SCPT).
• Submit a video to the SCPT Ethics in Action Video Contest for the 2022 competition and is a fantastic way for students to show ethical problem-solving using media.
• Create resources for ethics in focus areas, including Behavioral Ethics, Ethics in the Organization, Ethics and Fraud, Ethics and Technology, Ethics in Health & Wellness, and Ethics in Sport.
• Plan an ethics event or program that includes the DFEI Principles. See Funding Request Overview & Application Information on our website to request support for student organizations, educators, and community partner events.
