Visa to study in the United States
As an exchange student, you will be issued a DS-2019 in your admission packet. This document will allow you to obtain a J-1 visa for the duration of your stay in the United States. Please reference the U.S. Department of State Exchange Visitor page for the most up-to-date information on J-1 visa application requirements.
Arrival to Colorado Springs
The UCCS International Buddy Program provides complimentary pick-up service to new arriving exchange students. You will be contacted by your iBuddy with more details.
UCCS Student ID Number and Email
All international exchange students will be issued a UCCS student ID number and email which will be used frequently while studying at UCCS. Details (student ID number and how to claim your email account) will be provided in your acceptance letter.
Housing
The Education Abroad Office does not reserve housing for students, so you are responsible for arranging your own housing. There are many options available to you as exchange students. We strongly advise you to arrange your living accommodations before you arrive to Colorado Springs.

Insurance
UCCS mandates that all international students fulfill the requirements for visa compliance.
Billing and Payment
Your bill can be accessed and paid for via your UCCS student account. This bill will include any tuition and fees, housing, and insurance that you are responsible for.
