UCCS Executive Education recently partnered with the Daniels Fund Ethics Initiative (DFEI) Collegiate Program at UCCS College of Business to blend business acumen and ethical leadership into one transformative program: the Mini-MBA.

The UCCS Mini-MBA, a non-degree executive education program offered through the UCCS College of Business’ Executive Education office was created in response to the business community’s demand for high-level professional development programs. Participants attend classes once a week for 13 weeks at the UCCS Downtown campus with an additional 75 days to complete the capstone project. Each participant is required to develop a project with a financial impact of at least $75,000 through new revenue streams, cost savings or a mix of both.

New this year, the 2021 cohort will utilize their newly learned business concepts and skills through an ethical lens.

“We are constantly seeking opportunities to incorporate principle-based ethics education into our academic and professional programs, said Karen Markel, dean of the College of Business. “The College of Business is committed to building ethical leaders at every phase of their professional journey, and the Mini-MBA program is an excellent opportunity to gain practical business acumen while differentiating yourself through ethical leadership education.”

To ensure this program is accessible to everyone seeking professional development, the DFEI Collegiate Program at UCCS is also offering scholarships to Mini-MBA program participants. Scholarship candidates will receive up to 50 percent off their Mini-MBA tuition.

“The Daniels Fund Ethics Initiative Collegiate Program is proud to offer our professional community the opportunity to utilize principle-based ethics education in real-world business settings,” said Tracy-Gonzalez-Padron, professor of marketing and director of the DFEI Collegiate Program at UCCS. “Through this program, you will have the skills and training to make important contributions in both business and society.”

The Mini-MBA program is taught by internationally recognized College of Business faculty that specialize in translating current business theory into practice. The cohort-based structure allows for tailored, one-on-one support from professors throughout the program. Mini-MBA faculty will also provide ongoing guidance during the “$75k in 75 Days” capstone project.

The program launches its fourth cohort on September 14, 2021. Classes will run from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. every Tuesday for 13 weeks in downtown Colorado Springs. University of Colorado alumni and those who have previously enrolled in executive education courses are eligible for a discount. Mini-MBA graduates who choose to pursue a master’s degree in business will be waived of their admission exam requirements and fees.

“The UCCS Mini-MBA program is for professionals who want to gain skills and knowledge for immediate and substantial impact,” said Martin Key, faculty director of UCCS Executive Education and associate professor of digital strategy and marketing, College of Business. “It is a powerful route to career enhancement or the advancement of entrepreneurial pursuits through ethical leadership and real-world application of business concepts. The past three cohorts achieved a financial impact of nearly $8 million dollars, and we look forward working with the next cohort on their organizational and professional goals.”
