  • Why did you choose UCCS?

I chose UCCS because I knew I wanted to stay in the state, since I was born and raised in Colorado and it was a local school in Colorado accompanied by a beautiful campus and offered an AACSB accredited business program.

  • Why did you choose to study Information Systems?

One of my favorite things to do is work on computers and the concept of IT management is interesting. I enjoy the aspect of technology and how it keeps expanding. I know I will always have a place of work since technology is such an important part of a functioning business.

  • What do you like best about the College of Business?

I like the College of Business because it is really group focused. The classes are set you up to prepare you for the professional workplace. You end up growing connections with people from your first day of freshman year to your last day of senior year. You build a network with those who share similar interests as you.

  • Are you involved in any clubs or activities on campus?

I am involved in the business fraternity on campus Delta Sigma Pi and am senator of business for student government.

  • What are your career aspirations?

After I graduate, I want to go into IT. Whether that is IT security or IT management, but I am pulled more toward IT management.

  • How is UCCS helping to make those aspirations a reality?

UCCS is a great place to get involved and have all sorts of extracurricular activities that apply whatever it is you're studying. I believe that being involved as the senator of business and being a part of Delta Sigma Pi has helped my motivation and expanded my network with other students. These extracurricular's focus on real business situations and put you in real business situations. Getting involved really sets you up for success and prepares you for the professional workplace.

  • What do you like about Colorado Springs?

I love Colorado Springs. I wish that Colorado Springs was the capital of the state. It is so beautiful here and no matter where you are in the springs, the mountains are right in your backyard.

  • What would you tell someone who is considering UCCS for college?

I would tell those who are considering UCCS for college is to do it and get involved. There are smaller class sizes and you aren't just seen as a number. The professors really work with you and you go through college growing connections and make lifelong friends that you will someday work with.
