The Accounting Society (AS) is a professional and social organization led by students in the UCCS College of Business. The AS provides professional networking, social, and leadership opportunities focused in the field of accounting. Membership is open to all students in the College of Business. The AS regularly hosts professionals from a range of accounting sectors, providing valuable career insights and connections among students and the community.

The UCCS AIS Student Chapter is a UCCS-based student organization affiliated with the Association for Information Systems (AIS) that supports Information Systems/Cybersecurity Management/Business Analytics students through professional development, networking, competitions, and leadership opportunities. It connects students with industry professionals, fosters collaboration and innovation, and provides hands-on learning experiences through workshops, guest speakers, and community events. Members gain valuable technical, communication, and teamwork skills while exploring career pathways and preparing for success in the field.

MISSION

The AIS student chapter program promotes the study, application, and advancement of information systems/cybersecurity management/business analytics through career enhancement, professional networking, and chapter development.

VISION

The AIS student chapter program will become the primary source for undergraduate information systems/cybersecurity management/business analytics career development and the premier network of AIS student chapters at institutions of higher education across the globe.

Key Activities and Benefits:

Professional development - Workshops, speaker series, and networking with industry professionals.

Leadership opportunities - Students can serve as officers and manage chapter operations.

Competitions - Participation in the AIS Student Chapter Leadership Conference (SCLC), which includes contests and skill‑building events.

Founded in 1913, Beta Gamma Sigma is the international business honor society for AACSB-accredited schools. Membership recognizes the academic excellence of an AACSB accredited school and the top students graduating from AACSB programs.

Inducted as students, BGS members go on to serve in leadership roles in all business sectors - corporate, entrepreneurial, government, non-profit, and academia. Members currently reside in all 50 U. S. states and more than 190 countries.

Membership Guidelines

At UCCS College of Business, to be eligible for membership, the academic ranking of those being considered must place them in the upper ten percent of the baccalaureate degree graduating class or upper twenty percent of the master’s degree graduating class. While almost 300,000 students receive bachelor's or master's degrees in business in the U.S. each year, only about 19,000 students are elected to membership in Beta Gamma Sigma.

Students who meet eligibility for membership will receive a formal invitation from Beta Gamma Sigma in the graduating semester pending proper graduation checkout.

Delta Sigma Pi is a professional, co-ed fraternity open to all business and economics students, of any standing or emphasis. Through this organization, members will meet others with similar interests, strengthen their networking skills, give back to the community, and prepare for the business world. Each semester, DSP sponsors many professional events like: "Marketing Yourself" workshops that cover resume and professional dressing tips, and the Career Networking Night that brings employers to the students! These activities are open to all UCCS students and help our students stand-out when applying for jobs and internships.

The mission of the Finance Club is to provide a resource for current students to successfully pursue careers in finance and finance related fields. The club seeks to fulfill its role to our members by developing not only technical skills needed in the field, but also to develop our members socially and academically. As a club, we will strive to give our members the tools they will need to lead successful lives as finance professionals. Our goal as the UCCS Finance Club is to:

• Increase the skill set of the members to become better candidates in their future careers
• Foster community partnerships with the financial industry in town
• Provide access to alumni, guest speakers, and networking events for a further knowledge of the industry
• Help creating networking opportunities in order to help our members find internships and career opportunities
• Develop the necessary professional skills through workshops and interview preparation for the financial industry.

Mountain Lions Cyber Club is a cross-disciplinary team focused on developing talent in cybersecurity. The overarching goal is to help shape the future of UCCS’s involvement in the cyber domain, while continuously learning and having fun. The team participates in online and in person cybersecurity competitions, career exploration (internships/jobs), resume writing, and brings in industry speakers to share best practices and experiences.

At competitions, ML Cyber Club competes against other universities/colleges (local & national), local community, and/or team members. These competitions focus on challenges such as networking, programming, reverse engineering, hacking, encryption, math, electronics, multimedia, etc. All skill levels are welcome (beginner/advanced).

ML Cyber Club brings companies such as Lockheed Martin, Northrop Grumman, MITRE, etc. to present internship/job opportunities to members of the team. The faculty advisor gives a presentation on how to prepare one’s resume to increase the chances of landing the position one desires. Also, ML Cyber Club brings speakers from academia and industry to give insightful and fun talks. The topics discussed by speakers may be broad, or specific, but will revolve around the cyber domain. The speakers may consist of military personnel (Ex: United States Cyber Command), industry professionals, university professors, among others.

Any student at UCCS— regardless of discipline or major— is welcome to join this group to explore the broad applications and areas of cybersecurity.

The Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) is the leading voice of the human resource profession, representing the interests of over 60,000 professional and 6,000 student members around the world.

SHRM provides its members with educational and informational services, conferences and seminars, government and media representation, and publications that equip human resource professionals for their roles as leaders and decision-makers within their organizations. The society is a founding member and Secretariat of the World Federation of Personnel Management Associations (WFPMA), which links human resource associations in 55 nations.

As a national student member of the society, you will learn about the "real world" of human resource management (HRM) through award-winning publications and educational opportunities. We are a club specifically for Sport Management students. We host various events throughout the school year for students including contests with rewards such as t-shirts and free food. As a club in the College of Business at UCCS, our mission is to build a strong network between sport management students and the community. The Student Center for Public Trust (StudentCPT) at UCCS is part of a national network of college students who demonstrate a commitment to ethical leadership. The UCCS chapter provides all students from all majors with opportunities to participate in training sessions, conferences, community service and business ethics competitions.

Our chapter is supported by the Daniels Fund Ethics Initiative at UCCS and the NASBA Center for the Public Trust (CPT), which has staff and resources available to help our chapter maximize its effectiveness. The UCCS StudentCPT board works to create opportunities for students to network with the business community and learn how to use their involvement to enhance marketing themselves in the job market after graduation.

WiCyS UCCS Student Chapter aims to build a community within the University of Colorado Colorado Springs (UCCS) that promotes women’s education, participation, and leadership in the field of cybersecurity.
