The Business Analytics MBA emphasis equips students with fundamental business and analytical skills, preparing you to excel in a data-driven world. Students will master the ability to analyze complex data sets, develop effective business strategies, and ethically manage data. You will learn to communicate complex analytics concepts within teams and across organizational levels, continuously adapt to new analytical tools and methodologies, and utilize state-of-the-art business analytics technologies to innovate and improve business processes. The curriculum includes core business courses and specialized analytics electives including Visual Analytics, Predictive Analytics, and Business Intelligence, providing a comprehensive foundation for transforming data into actionable insights. 

Through hands-on projects and real-world case studies, students will be well-prepared to apply their skills in businesses, thriving in roles that demand data-driven decision-making and strategic leadership. 


Program Requirements

Young professional.

Applicants must have a Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution. Students who choose an emphasis in Business Analytics will take 24 semester hours of MBA core courses, and 12 semester hours of Business Analytics (BUAN) elective courses.

Business Intelligence for Managers

The course introduces a broad range of concepts and applications of Business Intelligence (BI) from the managerial perspective. This course provides students with a solid foundation in BI, reinforced with hands-on practice to help future managers use and understand analytics. Real-world cases throughout illustrate the capabilities, costs, and justifications of BI as applied to a variety of businesses. Skills introduced include data collection, data integration, data analysis, data presentation, and actional insights. Some examples in the business domain include stock price prediction, social media analytics, customer analytics, etc.
