Advisory Chairman Kaczmarek’s company recognized on the Inc. 5000 ‘Fastest Growing Private Companies’ list

Inc. Magazine recognized Borealis Fat Bikes as one of the fastest growing private companies in its annual Inc. 5000 - a highly prestigious list for independent small businesses in the U.S. CEO Steve Kaczmarek founded the Colorado Springs company in 2013 after recognizing a need for lightweight, technically advanced fat bike products in the market.

Borealis Fat Bikes joins an esteemed list of former Inc. 5000-ranked companies. Zappos, Under Armour, Microsoft, Patagonia and many other well-known names gained their first national exposure as honorees on the Inc. 5000, according to a press release from Borealis.

Companies on the 2021 Inc. 5000 are ranked according to percentage revenue growth from 2017 to 2020. To qualify, companies must havePhoto of Steve Kaczmarek been founded and generating revenue by March 31, 2017.

“Making the Inc. 5000 list is a true honor,” said Kaczmarek. “Our entire company has worked hard to build the best Fat Bikes in the World and making the list is true validation our customers agree!”

With a background in competitive sailing, Kaczmarek was able to combine mountain biking with his understanding of sailing’s carbon fiber and exotic materials to create Borealis Fat Bikes. His passion for the outdoors coupled with a successful track record in start-ups and entrepreneurism proved to be the perfect recipe for Borealis.

Kaczmarek is a longtime friend and supporter of the UCCS College of Business. He currently serves as Chairman of the Dean’s Community Advisory Board and has been a board member since 2014. The advisory board dedicates their time and expertise to advise the Dean on strategic initiatives surrounding the business school. Kaczmarek is also a longtime lecturer at UCCS.
