Academic Resources

UCCS and the College of Business care about your success and offer many resources for academic and personal growth to help you stay on track as a college student.

Please take advantage of the following resources - they have been created for you!
 

  • UCCS College of Business faculty are dedicated to your success. Weekly Office Hours give you a chance to get to know your professors and for them to get to know you. It's a great way to get help with assignments, clarify important class concepts and discuss networking opportunities and career advice. We encourage you to take full advantage of your professors' experience and interest in your success. Check your class syllabus for faculty office hours.

  • For our undergraduate students, at Academic Advising, we empower students to realize their academic goals, develop their career options and provide access to information regarding campus resources. Our services include academic advising for undergraduate students, as well as career counseling for all student levels. Call 719-255-3260.    

    For our graduate students, advising is available in our MBA office - Dwire Hall 333, call 719-255-3408 to set up an appointment.

  • The College of Business Career Development Center assists undergraduate and graduate business students searching for  internships and for part-time and full time positions; it also provides assistance with resume writing and career direction.

  • The Career Center has the tools, vision and experience to help you draw your own academic and career map.

  • The Excel Centers at the University of Colorado Colorado Springs, include the Languages and Social Sciences Center, the Mathematics Center, the Communication Center, the Science Center, and the Writing Center--a network of five centers, each offering a unique program of academic support to help all UCCS students succeed in every aspect of their academic careers.

  • The Office of the Dean of Students serves as an advocate for students' interests and needs to the rest of the University. The Dean of Students provides assistance to UCCS students by supporting student opportunities and administering services and programs that enrich and enhance student achievement. The Dean of Students' Office always maintains a list of community resources that our students may be interested in or need: www.uccs.edu/dos/community-resources

  • The College of Business Academic Support Center, located in Dwire Hall room 123, provides a computer lab in Dwire Hall for students to work on homework, check email, print, and work on group activities. The computer lab also offers tutoring to help business students with their business courses. 

  • If you need to make up an exam, take an exam early, take a correspondence exam, or take a standardized exam, contact the Testing Center.  You need to work with your professor and set an appointment at the Testing Center at least 24 hours in advance.

  • UCCS takes great pride in the academic and personal achievements of its many students and alumni with disabilities. Disability Services mission is to provide students with disabilities skills, reasonable accommodations and support services to participate fully in the academic environment and opportunities available at UCCS. In addition Disability Services promotes accessibility to all UCCS buildings, programs, and activities. Students are expected to utilize the resource of Disability Services to the degree they determine necessary.

  • The University Counseling Center is designed to serve the counseling and mental health-related needs of UCCS students. The services they provide help UCCS students achieve their educational goals, define their career goals, learn more about problem-solving processes, enhance their capacity for satisfying interpersonal relationships, and maximize their capacity for continued emotional growth. Their services include individual therapy, couples therapy, family therapy, crisis/emergency interventions, and consultation sessions for concerned friends/roommates/instructors. They also offer workshops and presentations open to the UCCS community.
