The Dwire Inquirer - March 2020

Dear Friends,

The current circumstances of COVID-19 have undoubtedly impacted us all. Last night, Chancellor Venkat Reddy announced an extension of remote learning and remote work until the end of the Spring 2020 semester. UCCS leadership is working diligently to ensure the safety of our students, faculty, staff, and alumni – as well as the greater Colorado Springs community. These are difficult decisions, but ones we are grateful for during a time of uncertainty and concern. We sincerely appreciate your patience as we work to keep our Mountain Lion family safe.

We were looking forward to many of our annual spring events and celebrations, including the Etiquette Dinner, Graduation Brunch, and Commencement. Unfortunately, these events have been cancelled. Achieving a college degree is an accomplishment deserving of recognition, and UCCS is currently discussing ways to celebrate the Class of 2020 without jeopardizing the safety of our students and their families.

Although we are not physically on campus, the College of Business faculty and staff are working tirelessly to provide our students and community with excellent educational services and experiences. We developed a remote resources page to support students with technical assistance, online tutoring services, and career-related support. UCCS also developed a Remote Tools & Support page for students, faculty, and staff during this transition.

These are unprecedented times for everyone, but I am confident that we can come together to overcome these challenges.

Best Regards,

Eric Olson, Interim Dean
