Business Analytics Minor

The Business Analytics minor focuses on the three pillars of analytics: descriptive, predictive, and prescriptive analytics. This minor offers hands-on, project-based courses that utilize state-of-art software to manage and analyze real data for businesses.

More and more jobs are “hybrids,” combining skill sets in the same job, such as marketing and statistical analysis or design and programming. Certain skills are acting as hybridizing forces, spreading across different roles. Business analytics is one of the primary hybridizing skills!

Program Requirements

Each candidate for a Business minor must complete the minor's prescribed courses in addition to the required courses in the Bachelor of Science-Business degree.

  • BUAN 3500 - Data Management and Descriptive Analytics in Business
  • BUAN 3600 - Predictive Analytics in Business
  • BUAN 4000 - Applied Prescriptive Analytics
Recommended CourseFor students who want to pursue a position in Data Analytics, it is strongly recommended that students take INFS 3400 as an elective course. It is not a required course, but offers students additional skills that will be helpful in the job.
