GMAT/GRE Waiver
GMAT/GRE Waiver
While the GMAT or GRE is required as part of the admissions process, applicants may receive a waiver based on academic performance, advanced degrees or management experience.
Read through the options below and see whether your academic background, professional work or military background meets the criteria for a GMAT/GRE waiver option.
MBA Waiver Options

Option A
If you have earned an advanced degree (equivalent to a U.S. master's or higher) from a regionally accredited institution with 3.0 GPA or higher.
If your degree is from outside of the U.S. you might also have to provide an official evaluation from any NACES evaluation company that shows your master's is equivalent to a U.S. master's degree from a regionally accredited institution.

Option B
Three (3) or more years of full-time meaningful professional work experience and/or military service with increasing levels of responsibility AND an undergraduate GPA of 3.0 or higher from a regionally accredited institution.
A $75 fee is required and one letter of reference from a supervisor who can verify your work experience and scope of responsibility is encouraged.

Option C
Ten (10) or more years of full-time meaningful professional work experience and/or military service with increasing levels of responsibility AND an undergraduate GPA of 2.75 or higher from a regionally accredited institution.
A $75 fee is required and one letter of reference from a supervisor who can verify your work experience and scope of responsibility is encouraged.

Option D
Current seniors and recent graduates (from the last 3 years):
- From UCCS and University of Colorado campuses who have an undergraduate GPA of 3.5 or higher in the last 60 hours of completed coursework.
- From another AACSB accredited business school with a bachelor's degree in business AND an undergraduate GPA of 3.5 or higher in the last 60 hours of completed coursework.
Students close to a 3.5 GPA (who may have advanced quantitative coursework) may be evaluated on a case-by-case basis by the College of Business Admissions Committee.
MSA Waiver Options

Option A
Current seniors and recent graduates (last 3 years) from UCCS or another AACSB-accredited business school with a bachelor's degree in accounting (or in business with an emphasis in accounting) AND an undergraduate GPA of 3.5 or higher in the last 60 hours of completed coursework.

Option B
If you have earned an advanced degree (equivalent to a U.S. master's or higher) from a regionally accredited institution with a 3.0 GPA or higher.
If your degree is from outside of the U.S. you might also have to provide an official evaluation from any NACES evaluation company that shows your master's degree is equivalent to a U.S. master's degree from a regionally accredited institution.

Option C
Five (5) or more years of meaningful professional work experience in accounting (3 of which are under the direct supervision of a licensed CPA) AND an undergraduate GPA of 3.25 or higher from a regionally accredited institution.
$75 fee is required and one letter of reference from a CPA supervisor who can verify your work experience and scope of responsibility is required.
*Experience working as an accountant for your own business does not qualify toward the 5 years of professional work experience.*
