Better Business Bureau of Southern Colorado and UCCS partner for Multi-Generational Professional Seminar Series

COLORADO SPRINGS, Nov. 19, 2018 – Better Business Bureau of Southern Colorado (BBB) and the University of Colorado Colorado Springs (UCCS) College of Business will offer a four- part, interactive, professional development seminar series, beginning February 7 through June 20, 2019, titled “Multi-Generational Professional Series.”

This series marks the third year of collaboration between BBB and UCCS College of Business to address the human resources, leadership and communication needs of small-business owners and professionals.

Integrating theory, research and evidence-based practices, attendees will learn concepts and strategies impacting a multi-generational workforce. The intended audience includes organizations and professionals of all generations.

Millennials comprise 26 percent of the population in Colorado Springs, higher than any other city in the U.S., and the city remains the top in the nation for attracting millennials. Currently one-third of the workforce, millennials will make up half of the labor pool by 2020.

Additionally, all individuals born after 2001 are expected to surpass Millennials’ share of the global population in 2019. Known as Gen Z, this up and coming generation carries their own unique behavioral traits and challenges for businesses.

The four tracks within the series are tailored for human resources, management and marketing professionals, and Track 4 is open to all, but designed for millennials.

The community is encouraged to attend the Seminar Series Informational Webinar: “3 Keys to Effective Communication Across Generations” on December 11, 2018 from 11:45 a.m. – 12:15 p.m. to learn more on the Series.

“We’re excited to again be offering this professional development series in conjunction with UCCS,” said Jonathan Liebert, CEO and executive director of BBB of Southern Colorado. “Learning to motivate, support and interact with employees from multiple generations is vital for business owners and other professionals.”

“As the employee age profile continues to diversify, the need for workforce-specific training has never been more critical,” said Stephen Ferris, dean, UCCS College of Business. “We are excited to enter our third year of partnership with the BBB of Southern Colorado to offer applicable and timely professional development opportunities to the Pikes Peak region and beyond.”
